My first visual memories are of the surreal open spaces of the desert. During the 1950's, my parents were mining for uranium in the Nevada-Utah desert areas, and it was there that I became aware of the wild horses that roamed that open range. Every day I would climb to the top of a hill to scan the horizon for evidence of their presence. Sometimes I would only see a distant dust cloud. Often I was rewarded with a closer view that revealed the magnificent creatures of my dreams.

As children we are naturally curious and delighted about people and our environment. In my life, and especially in my photography, I strive to evoke those same feelings of wonderment about the world and universe we inhabit.
